Nepal Women in to the Final of T20 Smash

The domination of Nepal in ongoing Women’s T20 Smash,Thailand is continuing as they thrash Indonesia by 92 runs in the 1st semi-final
to register their 5th straight win in the tournament. Nepal has made their way through the final and will face the Winner of UAE and Thailand on Saturday. Nepal 119/3(20 overs) defeated Indonesia 92 allout (11.1 over) by 92 runs.

Nepali openers started innings steadily but lost their 1st wicket with 31 runs on board as Kajal Shrestha departed for 14. Indu Barma and Sita Ranamagar then built a record partnership of 70 for 3rd wicket which is also a record T20I partnership for Nepal Women for any wicket. Unfortunately, Sita missed out on her Half Century by just 2 runs as she was run out on 48. Indu Barma Played a vital knock of 37 from 33 balls to ensure the Target of 120 for Indonesia. 119 is the Highest total for Nepal in T20 International.

Indonesia never looked comfortable in the run chase as they lost wickets in the regular interval before being bowled out for mere 27 runs in 11.1 overs. Kabita Kunwar Picked up the first wicket in 2nd over at the score of 11. Yulia Anggraeni was looking in the middle but Nery Thapa dismissed her on the individual score of 13. She became only Indonesian Player to touch double figure. Nepali skipper Rubina Chhetri was electric in the field as she dismissed two batsmen in the 6th over by running out. At one stage Indonesia were 19/2 but the Nepalese bowlers never gave them any chance to settle down as they were bundled up for 27 runs. The last 7 wickets were lost for just 5 runs. 4 players were dismissed for a duck. To seal this tremendous Victory Nepali Captain shined with the ball in hand as she picked up 4 wickets in 3.1 over with 2 maidens over conceding only 2 runs. Sita Ranamagar, Kabita Kunwar, Sarita Magar and Nery Thapa Picked up 1 wicket each while Sonu Khadka Remained wicketless from her couple of over.

This is the 1st occasion in the tournament that Nepal has won the match by defending the total as they batted in the 2nd inning in all last four matches.

Nepal will play final on Saturday against the Winner of UAE and Thailand.
